Biography
Dr. Alynna J. Lyon is Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of New Hampshire. She received a PhD in Political Science from University of South Carolina in 1999. She recently completed a manuscript titled American Politics and the United Nations (Lynne Rienner, 2016), is co-author of “The United Nations in the 21 Century (Westview 5th edition), and co-editor of a volume on Religion and Politics in a Global Society. Her research on international organizations, the United Nations, U.S. foreign policy, humanitarian intervention and peacekeeping appear in several journals and edited books. She serves as faculty adviser for the UNH Model United Nations team and as part of the Model Diplomacy advisory group for the Council on Foreign Relations. In 2008 she was the recipient of a UNH Excellence in Teaching award. She also serves on the executive committee of the International Organizations section of the International Studies Association.
