Biography
Demosthenes Bouros, former faculty member of the University of Crete and the Democritus University of Thrace, is now professor of Pneumonology at the University of Athens, Greece, and director of the ILDU of the Hospital for Diseases of the Chest in Athens. He was trained at Harvard and Boston Universities, USA, and the Royal Brompton Hospital, UK, and awarded as Visiting professor at the Medical University of Vienna by the ERS.
Research Interest
Pathophysiologic/pathogenetic mechanisms and treatment of ILDs, including the stem cell research and application in chronic lung diseases.
