Dr. Ayse Emel Onal

Biography

I was born in 1960 in Istanbul. In 1985 I graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. In 1995 I received specialist of Public Health with my thesis titled " Relations of Activities of Daily Living and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living with Health Problems of the Elderly Teachers Living in Istanbul " in Istanbul Medical Faculty, Department of Public Health. I was Associate Professor of Public Health at Hacettepe Medical School in 2005. Since 1991 I have been working in the Istanbul University Istanbul Medical Faculty Department of Public Health. Starting in 2007, I worked as assistant professor for Environmental Health Sciences Department. I became professor in 2011. Since 2013 I had been the Directorate of Department of Environmental Health Sciences for Department of Public Health of Istanbul Medical Faculty. Since 2014 I was assigned as head of Istanbul University, Community Medicine Application and Research Center. I have more than 30 publications that is to be the first name in 14 in Web of Science. My h index is 7. I am well aware degrees in French and moderate degrees in English.

My main research interests are Epidemiology, Gerontology, Environmental health.
