Biography

Graduated in Medicine by Coimbra's University in 2004 completed his specialization in General Surgery in “Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra” with the best national classification. Works as a General Surgeon in Coimbra, Portugal, and performsoncologic surgery, gastric and colo-rectal surgery, hepatobiliopancreatic and endocrine surgery, abdominal wall surgery, advanced laparoscopic surgery, varicose veins (including SEPS) and peripheral arterial surgery. He has great experience in diabetic foot and leg ulcer.In 2015 he performed the first retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy in Portugal.  He is an Invited Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra. He is the author of the first worldwide report of Almeida-Reis Hernia, author of several articles published in national and international journals, and author of several book chapters on thromboembolism. He has been invited to give lectures on phlebology, venous thromboembolism, diabetic foot and surgical site infection in national and international scientific meetings.
