Schiza Sophia Assistant Professor of Respiratory Medicine, Medical School, University of Crete, Somnologist Expert in Sleep Medicine (board certified from ESRS), Head of Sleep Disorders Unit, Medical School, University of Crete, Coordinator of sleep group of Hellenic Thoracic Society, member of the board of Hellenic Sleep Research Society and chair of the educational committee of Hellenic Sleep Research Society, vice president of the accreditation committe for sleep laboratories of Hellenic Thoracic Society. I am member from Greece in the European Committee for “safe driving” and the causes for care crashes I served as clinical research fellow for 1 year in Center for Sleep and Chronobiology, University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Research Interest

research interests are: Pathophysiology, cardiovascular and metabolic consequences of sleep breathing disorders, IPF and sleep breathing disorders, Control of Breathing, Pleural effusions. I serve as reviewer in the following peer-review journals:Chest, Sleep and Breathing, International Journal of Cardiology, Cytokine, Journal of Medical Case Reports, Medical Science Monitor, Annals of Behavioral Medicine, Sleep Medicine I have 53 publications in peer-review journals, h-index:14, citations: 782
