Biography
M.D., State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn, 1988 Dr. Lahm graduated from SUNY/Downstate Medical Center (Alpha Omega Alpha – Medical Honor Society) in 1988 and then completed an Internal Medicine Residency at North Shore University Hospital/Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, an Anesthesiology Residency at New York Hospital and then a Critical Care Fellowship in the Department of Anesthesia at Massachusetts General Hospital. Next, he worked at NYU Downtown Hospital from 1995 to 2003 being Anesthesiologist in Chief and Chairman the last 7 years. While at NYU Downtown Hospital he was Chair of the Value Analysis Committee, Laboratory and Transfusion Committee and Pain Management Committee. He also served as a member of the Operating Room/Ambulatory Surgery Committee, Medical Board, Quality Council Committee, Peer Review Committee, Maternal/Fetal/Child Committee, Palliative Care and Pain Management Committee and Operating Results Committee. In 2001, Dr. Lahm received his MBA in Health Systems Management and the Outstanding Scholarship Award from the Pace University,
Research Interest
He serves on the Anesthesia Department's Clinical Practice Committee, G3/F10 Operating Room Committee, Compurecord Committee and Education Committee. He lectures on a variety of topics to medical students, residents and fellows in Critical Care and Anesthesia. Dr. Lahm is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, New York State Society of Anesthesiologists, Neuro Critical Care Society, American Association of Clinical Directors, American Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists, and the Pace University Health Systems Management Advisory Board.
