Biography
Prof. Rainer W.G. Gruessner has received his M.D. in School of Medicine, Johannes-Gutenberg-University Mainz, Germany during the period of (1976-1983). Currently, He is working as Professor of Surgery, University of Arizona 7/2007 to present and also serving as a Chief of Transplantation 8/2015 to present in Upstate Medical University, NY. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities as.. Board Member, 2012-2013 UAHN Practice Plan Oversight Board , Senior Vice President, Academic Health Sciences Center, 2013 University of Arizona and so on. He is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like- Video Journal of Surgery, 2015-present , Transplant Reports, 2015-present , International Journal of Surgery Research and Practice. He has authored more than 300 research articles. He has honoured as Diabetes Cure Award, American Diabetes Assoc, AZ chapt 2012 Physician of the Year Award, Pima County Medical Assoc 2011 Innovation Award, and University of Arizona 2009.
Research Interest
Pancreas and islet transplantation and treatment of secondary complications of diabetes.
