Biography
My Ph.D. training in the Medical School at the University of Birmingham – UK and early research career focused on the kidney clearance function in normal and two-kidney, one-clip hypertension in the rat model. Recently, my research interest shifted to studying the effects of natural products, such as garlic, ginger and green tea, on type-1 diabetes mellitus in the streptozotocin-induced diabetic rat model. In particular, my current research focuses on elucidating mechanisms by which these natural products bring about their effects in early type-1 DM.
