Biography
Gabriela joined CENTOGENE in 2012 and her new role as SVP Genetic Data Processing and Digital Products bridges CentoMD® medical reporting and bioinformatics for unification and consolidation of genetic data into one “product†at CENTOGENE. Gabriela holds a PhD in Natural Science from University of Cologne, Germany and has been an active researcher in Human Genetics for almost 15 years. Her discovery and characterization of the first protective modifier of autosomal recessive spinal muscular atrophy [Science, 2008] gained her several awards. Besides Gabriela’s research experience in neuromuscular disorders, her experience includes characterization and validation of new tumor-specific targets, generation and characterization of monoclonal antibodies against cancer cells, and the curation and validation of mutation-to-disease phenotype relationships via multiple databases, tools and different software.
