Biography
Louisa currently works as a Senior Lecturer and researcher at Curtin University in Western Australia at the Western Australian School of Mines. She has a varied background which includes but is not limited to the following: Geometallurgy, process mineralogy and plant optimisation studies, mineral processing, analytical techniques such as MLA, QEMSCAN, TIMA, FTIR, QXRD, XRF, SWIR, standard electron microscopy, ICP-MS, microprobe, Laser ablation, assay techniques and sample preparations. She also has experience in applied and mining geology, exploration and drilling programs. Previous experience includes geotechnical engineering, tunneling and automated surveying systems with Ove Arup and Partners (London). Louisa started in the UK and moved to Australia to work in the mining industry in a technology and innovation environment (BHPBilliton), moving to management (Bureau Veritas), academia (University of Queensland and Curtin University) and Superintendent level roles (FMG metals group/BHPBilliton Olympic Dam) as well as consulting (JK Tech). Louisa was educated at the University of Leicester, Camborne School of Mines and the University of Nottingham in the U.K.
