Biography
Dr. Henry Peng received his Ph.D. from Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry at University of Toronto followed by postdoctoral fellowship at Centre for Biomaterials at University of Toronto. After having worked on research and development in the area of biomaterials and biomedical engineering for two private companies, he began his career in defence science with Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC), Toronto Research Centre in 2003 and developed biomaterials and methods for combat casualty care. Externally, Dr. Peng has served as a reviewer for Journal of Applied Polymer Sciences, Biomacromolecules, European Polymer Journal, Acta Biomaterialia, Journal of Biomedical Materials Research and many more. Dr. Peng has also served as a reviewer for Canadian Institute of Health Research Grants and US Army Joint Warfighter Medical Research Program. Internally, Dr. Peng has been a long standing member of DRDC Toronto Staff Association and served as a member in the planning committee for a centre level facility modernization project and in the S&T publishing team to improve the publishing process at DRDC Toronto. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers and reports.
Research Interest
Biomedical materials and engineering, biochemical analysis, drug delivery, bio-mathematical modeling, thromboelastography and nanotechnologies for biomedical applications.
