Biography

  George is a Senior Manager in the Finance Function Effectiveness Department of the Advisory Services Practice, with 9 years of experience. Since joining the IFRS Transition Team in 2007, George is actively engaged in the provision of IFRS and US GAAP accounting services. As a Senior Manager in the IFRS transition team, he has participated in several projects in many business sectors (incl. shipping, retail, hotels, manufacturing) assisting companies in their effort to comply with regulatory requirements for full implementation of IFRS. During his employment at PwC, George has worked with major shipping companies, both US listed and private. He has gained extensive experience as project manager and team leader on first time adoption of IFRS, conversions, provision of accounting services under IFRS and US GAAP financial reporting and a wide range of IFRS technical issues faced by Greek companies including but not limited to financial instruments, leases, investment property, deferred tax, consolidation etc. He has also been involved in training services as a lecturer in IFRS related topics. George holds a BSc in Business Administration and an MBA from Athens University of Economics and Business. George is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
