Deepak Padmanabhan

Biography

Deepak Padmanabhan is an Honours Engineering graduate in Electronics and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Communications and Networks. He has over twenty two (22) yearsÂ’ experience in the telecom industry and with over 25 years experience in the Middle East. Mr. Padmanabhan was responsible for the strategy planning and development of new businesses for TECOM, the cluster of free zones and businesses established to foster DubaiÂ’s Knowledge Economy, such as the Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Knowledge Village and DuBiotech. He also played a key role in the setting-up of the U.A.E.Â’s second telecom operator, Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du). He currently heads the international communication investment arm of Dubai Holding: Emirates International Telecommunications LLC (EIT). He was responsible for the acquisition of stakes in Tunisie Telecom, GO Plc and Forthnet. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of GO Plc, MaltaÂ’s incumbent telecom provider. He sits on the Boards of Tunisie Telecom, the incumbent provider in Tunisia and of Interoute, the leading pan-European IP network and service provider. Mr. Padmanabhan is also the Chairman of the Board of SmartCity Malta, the technology park currently being developed in Malta.Padmanabhan Deepak Srinivas - Chairman BoD - Non executive member
