Biography
Prof. Toshihiro Kitada received BS (1970), MS (1972), and PhD (with the thesis title“Modeling of Photochemical Reaction System of Air Pollutants and its Simulation”,1979) in Environmental Engineering from Kyoto University, Japan. His academic career was started as Research Associate in Environmental Engineering, Kyoto University in 1975. Since 1979 he served as Associate Professor and Professor in Regional Planning, Ecological Engineering, and Environmental and Life Sciences for 32 years at Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan. Then he took the position of President at National Institute of Technology/Gifu College, Japan in 2011till 2016.Prof. Kitada iscurrently Specially Appointed Professor in Graduate School of Engineering, Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan. He holds the title of Professor Emeritus at Toyohashi University of Technology and also at National Institute of Technology/Gifu College. He once served as Visiting Assistant Professor in Chemical Engineering, University of Kentucky, USA from 1981 to 1982. His research topics includes chemical transport modeling of air pollutantsfor photochemical smog and acid rain/snow, its use for prediction of air pollution transport dynamics in local flow system such as land/sea-breeze and mountain/valley-wind, mesoscale meteorology and thermal environment affected by urban heat island, atmospheric turbulence due to severe local flows, etc. He has authored more than 100 peer reviewed articles in air pollution and environmental meteorology.
Research Interest
