Biography

Prof. Kwon H. Lee received the B.Sc. degreein environmental engineering from Korea University (1999), M.S. degree and the Ph.D. degree both in environmental science &engineeringfromthe Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology(GIST), Gwangju, Korea, in 2001 and 2005, respectively.His graduate research was in satellite remotesensing of atmospheric aerosol studies.In 2005, he was with the Advanced EnvironmentalMonitoring Research Center (ADEMRC), GIST, forpostdoctoral studies in the same field. Since 2006, he has been a ResearchAssociate with the Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center, Universityof Maryland, College Park. Since 2006, a professor with the Departmentof Satellite Geoinformatics Engineering, Kyungil University, Korea. He is now a professor in the department of atmospheric & environmental sciences, Gangneung-Wonju National University (GWNU). He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed articleswith approximately 2000 citations to date.

Research Interest

atmospheric remote sensing techniques, aerosol optics,radiative transfer models, radiometric calibration methods, data visualization.
