1. Aerosol research with emphasis on the physical, optical and chemical properties of aerosols, and investigation of their climatic role and impacts on health and ecosystems 2. Air quality: atmopsheric gases and trace gases observations in the atmosphere with emphasis on tropospheric ozone & ozone precursors, source-sinks/ photochemistry/ transport/ meteorology, Stratosphere-to-Troposphere Exchange 3. Production, source-sinks and transport processes of gases and aerosols in the Eastern Medfiterranean 4. Climate change and synergistic interaction between different geophysical phenomena
