Biography
Mauro Maniscalco is a Consultant of Respiratory Medicine at the Hospital “Santa Maria della Pietà” of Casoria, Naples (Italy). He is specialist in respiratory medicine and occupational medicine. Mauro Maniscalco has been Fellow research at Addenbroke’s and Papworth Hospitals of Cambridge (UK) carrying out research on the role ox exhaled nitric oxide in respiratory physiology and pulmonary diseases. He completed his ph.D at department of Physiology and Pharmacology at Karolinska Institute of Stockholm in 2006 studying the effect of NO in upper airways disorders. At moment behind the study of exhaled NO, he is carrying out studies on respiratory patho-physiology of obesity and on metabolomic approach on exhaled breath condensate in respiratory disorders. During his career he has served as reviewer for more than 50 peer reviewed medical journals and he has authored more than 80 scientific papers on peer reviewed journals and presented over 100 abstract to national and international meetings.
