Biography
Prof. Park obtained her M.S. and Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Texas at Austin in 1990. During her Ph.D., she had studied the effect of oxidative stress on cardiac ischemia and reperfusion injury using animal models. She then continued her career in Emory University where she did her post-doctoral fellowship. She became an assistant professor at the Emory University School of Medicine and assistant director at the Clinical Biomarkers Laboratory in 2009. Her research of interest is to develop tools for personalized medicine using metabolomics. She then transferred to Korea University as an associate professor in 2013 and currently, is a Professor in Korea University. Her laboratory is doing research on the different fields of metabolomics, from human health to environmental applications using high resolution mass spectrometry. Through her career, she has been able to publish vast number of papers in distinguished journals including Science.
