Biography
I am currently investigating the mineral-scale, paleomagnetic history of the early Earth at the University of Cambridge. Prior to this appointment I was at Curtin University in W. Australia in both Applied Geology and the John de Laeter Centre for Isotope Research where I was primarily involved in geochronology and trace element geochemistry related to high-grade metamorphism. I completed my PhD in 2009 at the University of Edinburgh, with the title “Distribution of trace elements between zircon, garnet and melt: a key to understanding crustal processes and events”. This was followed by an appointment at the Edinburgh Materials and Microanalysis Centre (EMMAC) supporting the ion microprobe facility.
