Hashem Khosroshahi

Biography

Dr. Hashem E. Khosroshahi graduated from the Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, Turkey in 1974. After 4 years studying in pediatrics at the same faculty he transferred to Shiraz University Medical Faculty, Iran and passed the required examinations and received National Board in Pediatrics in 1981. He was fellow in pediatric cardiology at Rajaei Cardiovascular, Medical and Research Center, (ex- Queen’s Hospital) Tehran, Iran. Dr. Khosroshahi spent some time in 1984 at Department of Pediatric Cardiology, University Children’s Hospital, Christian Albrechts University, Kiel, Germany, [under direction of Prof. Dr. P.H. Heintzen), and in 1991 at Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Ontario [under direction of Dr. Robert M. Freedom], and in 1997-1999 at Scarboro General Hospital, Scarboro, Ontario, Canada [under direction of Prof. Dr. AtillaTurgay].He worked for many years as Pediatrician and Pediatric Cardiologist at different hospitals in Turkey. He was ex- Faculty member and member of Board of Directors of Yozgat University Medical Faculty, and Chairman of Department of Pediatrics. He focused intensively on Keutel Syndrome, rheumatic heart diseases and myocardial pathologic physiology and diseases in children. He also wrote and published his poems (3 books), novels (2 books) and translated more than 30 books of poems, short stories and novels from Persian to Turkish language. Dr. Hashem E.
