Biography
Dr. Ivan Arenas is board certified in internal medicine, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. He earned his medical degree at the Universidad Industrial de Santander, and completed his internal medicine residency in Framingham, Massachusetts. Dr. Arenas completed a cardiology fellowship with the Columbia University Division of Cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida. Dr. Arenas also holds a doctoral degree in cardiovascular physiology from the University of Alberta and was a Postdoctoral Fellow of the Canadian Institutes of Health and Research investigating genetics of cardiovascular disease at the University of Montreal. He has received research grants and scholarships to investigate the mechanisms of vascular and cardiac dysfunction with aging.
