Biography
Dr. Anna Scotto d’Abusco was born in Ischia (NA), Italy, on Feb 2nd, 1963. She got her degree in Biological Sciences in 1987, at University “Federico II” of Naples, a post-degree fellowship in 1991 at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA, and a Specialization in Biotechnology Applications in 1995 at University of Rome Tor Vergata. Since November 2001 Dr. Scotto d’Abusco is Tenured Researcher in Biochemistry at the Department of Biochemical Sciences, School of Pharmacy and Medicine, Sapienza University of Rome. Dr. Scotto d’Abusco has a long-standing experience in the field of degenerative diseases. Her research is mainly focused on the study of inflammatory pathways and on identification of natural and synthetic molecules able to counteract inflammation, in cell culture and in vivo animal models. She is author of 40 full papers in international peer-reviewed journals, many abstracts, 1 book chapter and 4 patents. She is also referee for many journals.
