Robert Kyprianou

Biography

Mr Robert Kyprianou, who has over 35 years’ experience in asset management and financial markets, graduated with an MA degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Oxford University, United Kingdom. He served as the Chief Executive Officer at AXA Framlington Group Ltd. from 2006 until 2009. He joined AXA Investment Managers as the Global Head of Fixed Income in 1999. In 2002 he was appointed Head of Securities Investment Management and Deputy CEO of AXA Investment Managers globally. Previously Mr. Kyprianou was the Global Head of Fixed Income at ABN AMRO Asset Management Holdings, Inc, where he founded and built ABN AMRO’s London asset management business. He joined ABN AMRO from Salomon Brothers Asset Management Ltd. where he co-founded Salomon’s international asset management business. Mr. Kyprianou served as Senior Portfolio Manager at Citibank Global Asset Management in the fixed income department from 1987 to 1990. He held several positions at British Petroleum PLC from 1978 to 1987 including Economist and Strategist for the British Petroleum Pension Fund and Chief International Economist for Standard Oil of Ohio. In 2009, Mr Kyprianou has served in a number of Board and advisory roles including as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Gartmore Group Limited; an independent Non-Executive Director, Chairman of the Risk Committee and member of the Audit Committee of Aviva Investors, the global asset management arm of Aviva Insurance; member of the Investment Committee of the Brasenose College, Oxford University endowment fund. Currently Mr Kyprianou serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director, member of the Audit and Risk Committees at PIMCO Europe Ltd. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Polar Capital Global Financials Trust PLC, a UK listed investment company, and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Eurobank Cyprus Ltd.
