Biography
Dr. Wenzhe Ma received his Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology at Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2005. And shortly after that he started his postdoctoral training at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), USA. In August 2012, joined the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) as Assistant Professor. The main focus of Dr. Ma’s group is on cancer metabolism and screening of natural products with anti-cancer activity. Dr. Ma’s work has been published in international TOP journals, including New England Journal of Medicine and Nature Communications. Dr. Ma’s studies highlight the importance of mitochondrial metabolism in tumorigenesis and may well have wide-ranging medical implications.
