Biography
Xenophon Verykios is a Professor in Chemical Technology & Applied Physical Chemistry department, University of Patras, Greece. He holds Ph.D. from Lehigh University in 1979. He has done B.S (diploma) in Chemical Engineering, Bucknell University in 1975. His research interests reflect in his wide range of publications in various national and international journals.
Research Interest
His research field is expertise in Reformation of biofuels (bio-ethanol, biogas, biooil, glycerol) for production of renewable hydrogen. Design of advanced reactors with rapid heat exchange. Development of catalysts and mechanistic studies on reactions of reformation, water-gas shift, and selective hydrogenation. Electronic interactions between metal and carrier in supported metal catalysts. Development of catalysts for fuel cells with reduced platinum content. Photocatalytic hydrogen production with simultaneous decomposition of organic molecules.
