Biography
Zimei Wu was sent by China Pharmaceutical University School of Pharmacy, University of Otago, New Zealand as a visiting scholar and then a research fellow before commenced her Ph.D. on a topic of parenteral delivery of poorly soluble drugs. Her postdoctoral research based at Otago as a formulation scientist for NZ Bayer was to address an infectious disease. In 2009, Dr. Wu was appointed as a lecturer in pharmaceutics at the Auckland School of Pharmacy, and promoted to senior lecturer in 2011. Dr. Wu’s research has focused on target delivery to address the various issues in anti-cancer chemotherapy, in particular, drug resistance. She also researches dermal and transdermal drug delivery. She has published 49 papers in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Wu is the Vice President of New Zealand Local Chapter of Controlled Release Society.
