Biography
He received his M.D. and Ph.D. from the Niigata University, Japan (1985, 1993). His professional training included a residency of internal medicine at the Niigata Cancer Center Hospital and a basic research training at the Department of Biochemistry, Niigata University Graduate School of Medicine. Then he spent about two years working as a post-doctoral research trainee at the Department of Biochemistry, University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis, TN, USA. After returned to Japan, he had held a position of Assistant professor, Lecturer, and Associate professor of Respiratory Medicine,
