Research Interest
Exploration of pivotal molecules involved in restenosis development by genomic and proteomic analysis, which help to identify the potential therapeutic targeting molecules or disease-specific biomarkers for clinical diagnosis. We also evaluate pharmacological activities and mechanisms of natural herb-sourced bioactive compounds in restenosis prevention, and combine nanoparticle processing of candidate drugs and optimization of coating formulas to develop a drug-eluting stent, which improves drug efficacy, reduces side effects and controls release. The laboratory also is working on (2) development of anti-angiogenic agents with multiple anti-cancer mechanisms and candidate compounds against drug resistance that help to reduce side effects of and drug resistance to first-line chemotherapy drugs.
