Biography
My current position is as an Assistant Professor of Laboratory Hematology and Transfusion Medicine in Technological Institute Education (T.E.I.) of Athens, Faculty of Health and Caring Professors, Department of Medical Laboratories. My research interests are the red blood cell storage lesion, the erythrocyte aging and red blood cell programmed cell death, eryptosis in vivo, ex vivo and in vitro. I am skilled on flow cytometer, SDS-PAGE, western blood, Eliza and many others techniques. I study the red blood cell apoptosis, aging and clearance using monoclonal antibodies and annexin V. Also, by flow cytometry I am able to detect microparticles and I can characterise these. My new research interest is the red cell microparticles in health and many diseases.
