Biography

Sophia Tsabouri graduated in 1997 from the Medical School of the University of Ioannina, Greece where she obtained her PhD in 2004. She trained in the specialty of paediatrics at University Hospital of Ioannina and in 2007 completed her specialty in paediatrics. Soon thereafter, she trained in Paediatric Allergy at the Department of Paediatric Allergy, St Thomas's Hospital, Kings College London University, London: one of Europe's largest specialist children's allergy centres. In 2010, she appointed to the post of Lecturer in Paediatrics at the University of Ioannina. In 2011, she acquired the diploma of pediatrician allergist of the European Society of Pediatric Allergy and Clinical Immunology (ESPACI): education and training committee - pediatric allergology. During this time, she has appointed to the post of Consultant Paediatrician/ paediatrician Allergist at the University Hospital of Ioannina, Greece. In 2015, she appointed to the post of Assistant Professor in Pediatrics / Paediatric Allergy. She serves as a board member (secretary) for the Greek Paediatric Allergy Society since 2009.

Research Interest

Management of anaphylaxis (use of adrenaline) in children with food allergy, prevalence of food allergies in children with low birth weight, allergy to local anesthetics, side effects and compliance of children with allergic rhinoconjunctivitis and / or asthma receiving sublingual, subcutaneous immunotherapy, proteins induced food allergy in breast feeding infants'.
