Athanasios Exadactylos

Biography

Dr Athanasios Exadactylos (PhD) completed his undergraduate studies (Higher Diploma in Agriculture) in 1993 at the Dpt of Agricultural Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), Hellas. He received his PhD in flatfish population genetics at the University of Liverpool, School of Biological Sciences, Port Erin Marine Lab, Isle of Man (IoM), UΚ in 1997. He holds an academic staff position since 2003 at the Dpt of Ichthyology & Aquatic Environment (DIAE), School of Agricultural Sciences, University of Thessaly (UTh), Hellas. Referee/certifier from the experts’ database for the Hellenic Ministry of Education, General Secretariat of Research & Technology, European Commission experts’ database for “Horizon 2020” & the 7th Research Framework Program (FP7). Refereeing on regular basis scientific papers under potential publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals, & assessing scientific proposals for awarding research funding grants. Editorial Board member in open-access scientific journals. Collaboration in several research projects & serves as a leader focusing on aquatic animal & plant genetics footprint. Considerable citation record of his authorship/co-authorship outlined in scientific papers, conference proceedings & technical reports/datasets. Supervision/co-supervision of several undergraduate & MSc theses & PhDs. To date, post-grads are pursuing their PhD thesis under his supervision/co-supervision & post-docs have already fruitfully checked out from the Hydrobiology-Ichthyology Lab he runs as Head. He is currently acting as Head of DIAE.
