Biography
Dimitrios Katsaros was born in 1974. He spent a year (July 1997-June 1998) as a visiting researcher at the Department of Pure and Applied Mathematics at the University of L’Aquila, Italy. After receiving his PhD, he earned a “PYTHAGORAS” research grant (2005-2007) at the Aristotle university for conducting postdoctoral research in the synergy between social network analysis and wireless ad hoc networks. During the spring semester of 2015, he was a visiting fellow in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Yale university. During summer of 2017 he was a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Yale university. He is Associate Editor for IEEE Access, Special Track Editor for IEEE Internet Computing for «drone-delivered computing και services»topics, and Area Editor for EAI Endorsed Transactions on Security and Safety (for “Security in Ad hoc Networks”); he co-guest edited special issues on “Cloud Computing” in IEEE Internet Computing and IEEE Network magazines, and served as publication advisor in the translation for the greek language of the book “Google’s PageRank and Beyond: The Science of Search Engine Rankings”. He co-developed the popular scientometric index called contemporary h-index. His research interests are in the area of distributed systems, including cloud computing, big data, ad hoc networks, sensor networks, vehicular networks, and network science. He has written more than 120 articles in journals and conferences. His articles have received more than 3900 citations (http://scholar.google.com/citations?user=RsQ_ai4AAAAJ&hl=en&oi=ao). He regularly acts as reviewer in premium quality journals.
