Biography
Dr. Rhee is Professor at the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Kyungpook National University,Daegu, South Korea. He obtained his BS in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 1989 from College of Veterinary Medicine, Chungnam National University, Korea. In 1995, he moved into Department of Neurobiology, Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel, for 5 years to obtain PhD degree. Dr. Rhee came to the Department of Physiology & Cell biology, Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, USA (2000 ~ 2002) as postdoctoral fellow. He then joined Kyungpook National University as an Assistant Professor in 2003. Dr. Rhee delivers lectures to the students of Doctor Of veterinary Medicine (DVM) on Veterinary Physiology and Practice, Veterinary Neuroscience, GPCR, second messengers, and so on.
Research Interest
His current research interests mainly cover the signal transduction of cannabinoid receptors and the possible role of Regulator of G-protein signaling on the cannabinoid function, defensive effects of natural herbal products such as ginseng and mushroom compounds on cardiovascular disorders, and the anti-inflammatory effects of natural products in LPS-activated murine macrophage cell line.
