Biography
Mr. Gautam Thapar is Non-Executive Independent Director of Asahi India Glass Limited since 2002. He is the Chairman of the Avantha Group, which has business interests in Power Equipment, Forestry Agri Business, Chemicals, Utilities, Infrastructure and IT. The group companies include Crompton Greaves Ltd. Mr. Thapar is active in business and corporate sectors. He is an active office bearer of CII and currently serves as a Trustee on a number of Institutions, including Vice Chairman of Aspen Institute, India and President of Thapar University. He is also a Director on the Board of several other companies in India and abroad.
