Biography
Denis Wang joined the Department of International Business of CUHK in July 1990. He is currently the Director of the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at CUHK. He was the former CUHK Director of Global Business Programs. He was appointed as the Inaugural HSBC Bank Canada Visiting Chair Professor of International Business at the University of British Columbia in 2000. He was the Director of the Master of Science Program in Global Business of CUHK from 1997 to 2002. His research and publications focus on business strategy and management theory. Denis studied at Wah Yan College Hong Kong and graduated from Queen's University, Kingston, Canada. He completed the first year of legal studies at Dalhousie Law School and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from York University, Toronto, Canada. Before joining the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Denis served as a Finance Director in the Alberta Government, General Manager of China for L'Oréal SA and Senior Adviser to the Management Development Centre of the Hong Kong Government. At CUHK, Denis taught courses related to finance, entrepreneurship, business strategy, strategic innovations of the hospitality and real estate industries. In all of these courses, he practiced what he taught and has been successful in foreign exchange trading, IPOs of Chinese companies, private equity investments in global real estate and hospitality assets.
