Biography
Chor-yung Cheung came to City University in August 1995 and is currently a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Department of Public Policy. He is most interested in studying political theory and Hong Kong politics. Cheung believes that reading the classical works of political philosophy is one of the best ways to develop a more profound understanding of politics and the human condition. He also recommends that students of Hong Kong politics engage policy makers and political participants in person in order to directly observe how real life politics unfolds and develops. Cheung obtained his BA (Hons) at the University of Hong Kong, his MPhil at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and his PhD at the University of Hull. He was twice an Administrative Officer of the Hong Kong Government and was Editor of the BBC Chinese Service in London. Cheung is an elected member of the Election Committee of the HKSAR and a panel member of the Administrative Appeals Board of the HKSAR Government.
