Biography

Christina Sue-Chan (PhD, MBA, BSc (Psychology) – Toronto; MLIS - Western Ontario) is Associate Head and Associate Professor, Department of Management, City University of Hong Kong. Previously, she was on the faculties of the Department of Organizational and Labour Studies, University of Western Australia and Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba. She has held visiting positions at the School of Business, Queensland University of Technology; John Molson School of Business, Concordia University (Canada); Department of Management of Organisations, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; and, the Lorry I. Lokey School of Business and Public Policy, Mills College (Oakland, CA, USA). She served as Acting Head of the Department of Management, City University of Hong Kong in the Fall semester, 2015-2016. Dr. Sue-Chan’s main research interests include coaching to motivate in the context of leadership and (social) entrepreneurship, self-regulatory processes in motivation, and creativity. Her research has been published in prominent management (e.g., Journal of Management) and psychology (e.g., Developmental Psychology) journals. She has presented her work at numerous conferences including the Academy of Management, American Psychological Association, Canadian Psychological Association, European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology, and Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. She has been awarded research grants by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and by the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong to fund her research.
