Biography
Dr Oscar Kin-chung Au is a computer scientist and his research interests include human computer interaction and computer graphics, particularly in the areas of 2D/3D interfacing design, and geometry modelling and processing. His most recent work, ‘Linear Dragger: a Linear Selector for One-finger Target Acquisition’ (2014) and ‘The Implicit Fan Cursor: A Velocity Dependent Area Cursor’ (2014), have both been presented at the CHI conference; introducing new interaction techniques for improving fundamental but important target acquisition performance on both traditional desktop computer and touch input environment. He is also working on HCI techniques for 3D modelling and manipulation, with recent work ‘Multitouch Gestures for Constrained Transformation of 3D Objects’ (2012) and ‘Two-Finger Gestures for 6DOF Manipulation of 3D Objects’ (2012) presented at Eurographics and Pacific Graphics which introduced novel multitouch input for both constrained and freeform 3D object manipulation.
