Biography

Dr LI Yanzhi obtained his Bachelor degree in Computer Science from Tsinghua University and PhD degree in Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. My research interests include: (1) Solving practice-triggered challenging problems with analytics and optimization and developing actionable plans and systems. I am currently working on projects spanning logistics, retailing, e-commerce and health care operations. (2) Interface research between Operations and Marketing/Finance, such as pricing and inventory management, channel management, and supply chain finance. I am interested in both examining interesting new phenomena and digging out managerial insights and solving operationally challenging problems; (3) Sustainability and operations management. One of our papers on carbon footprint and supply chain management has been listed as ISI highly cited in 2014. I derive a lot of joys working with my research students. I am lucky enough to witness their growth and prospering. The achievements of my PhD students earned me the inaugural College Excellent PhD Supervisor Award in 2016. I regularly look for talented PhD students who are well motivated, especially those with good training in algorithm design & programming, or mathematics and statistics. Any suitable candidate may drop me an email with your one-page CV.
