I am currently an associate professor in the College of Business at City University of Hong Kong (CityU). I received my bachelor and master degrees in Mathematics from Nanjing University, and Ph.D. degree in Operations Research from Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prior to joining CityU, I was a senior lecturer (associate professor) in Management Science at Lancaster University Management School and an adjunct professor in Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) in Norway. I have also worked as a research associate in University of Calgary, University of Cambridge and University of Toronto. My research interests include decision and behavioral science, supply chain risk management, pricing and revenue management, and healthcare operations and mechanism design. Before I started my academic career, I had also worked in various industries as network engineer, management consultant, and entrepreneur, respectively. I have consulted in online retailing, pharmaceutical, energy and financial service industries. I am currently serving as an independent director of China Titans Energy Technology Group (HKEx. 2188). I am actively recruiting Ph.D. students who are interested in developing analytic techniques in data-rich environments, such as business forecasting and statistical reinforcement learning, stochastic dynamic optimization, and game theoretical analysis, with applications in artificial intelligence, commodity risk management, supply chain finance, energy and mobility services, health care services and precision medicine, etc. The candidates should have a strong mathematics and computing background, preferably with a bachelor degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science.
