Biography

Dr Stephen Leung joined the Faculty of Engineering at The University of Hong Kong in 2015 as a Director of Research Student Centre. Before joining HKU, he was a faculty member of Department of Management Sciences at City University of Hong Kong. His major research interests are logistics and supply chain management, transportation, operations management, and RFID applications. He has published over 100 referred journal papers, conference papers, and book chapters. His research outputs are published in highly reputable international journals such as INFORMS Journal on Computing, European Journal of Operation Research, Annals of Operations Research, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Production Research, NeuoComputing, Transportation Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review, Computers and Operations Research, Journal of the Operational Research Society, Journal of Combinatorial Optimization, Supply Chain Management-An International Journal, Expert Systems with Applications, etc. As of November 2016, the SCI/SSCI h-index is 17 and the sum of times cited without self-citations is 960. Dr Stephen Leung has been elected as a Fellow and Chartered Mathematician of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. He was a member of the Quality Assurance Committee and Publication Committee of the CILTHK, an external expert of Assessment of SCS-based Programmes in Logistics of Joint Quality Review Committee (JQRC), a member of Transport Logistics Training Board of Vocational Training Council (VTC), a convener of Working Party on “2012 Manpower Survey: Transport Logistics Industry” of Transport Logistics Training Board. Currently, he is an external examiner/assessor/advisor of degree and sub-degree programmes of various local and overseas institutions.
