Biography

William KK Wu is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care. He obtained his PhD in Medical Sciences from CUHK in 2009 and received post-doctoral training in the Institute of Digestive Diseases, CUHK afterwards. As of Oct 2016, he has published more than 150 peer-reviewed articles in international journals, including Gut, Cell Research, Nature Communications, Autophagy, Cancer Research and Oncogene, and 4 book chapters. His research interests include autophagy, cancer biology, sepsis and translational genomics. His research achievements have been recognized both nationally and internationally. He has been awarded the Outstanding Research Postgraduate Student Award by HKU, the Young Researcher Award by CUHK, the First-class Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Output Award (Natural Science) by the Ministry of Education of China and FRCPath by the Royal College of Pathologists (London, UK). He also obtained numerous external competitive grants, including 4 Health and Medical Research Fund and 1 RGC-Early Career Scheme, in the capacity of Principal Investigator.
