Chen Zhiwu

Biography

    Mr. Chen Zhiwu is an Independent Non-Executive Director in PetroChina Company Limited. He is a tenured professor of finance at the Yale School of Management and a distinguished professor under the Chang Jiang Scholar Program at the Tsinghua University School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Mr Chen received a bachelor of science degree from Central South University of Technology (now the Central South University), a master’s degree in engineering from the National University of Defense Technology of PRC and a doctorate degree of finance from Yale University of the United States. From June 1990, Mr Chen started his teaching career in the University of Wisconsin - Madison of the United States. From July 1995, he worked at the Ohio State University of the United States and was promoted to associate professor of finance in 1997. From July 1999, Mr Chen became a tenured professor of finance at the Yale School of Management. From May 2011, Mr Chen has been appointed an independent non-executive Director of the Company.
