Biography
Yuk Hung Hui is an ecologist and biostatistician with over 15 years of experience in environmental impact assessment (EIA), environmental monitoring and audits (EM&A) and outfall performance verification. While primarily an ecologist, he has also developed expertise in associated water and sediment quality assessments. He has been responsible for the design, implementation and supervision of numerous field surveys for monitoring and assessing potential ecological fisheries and water sediment quality impacts for major infrastructure projects in Hong Kong SAR and the Mainland. He is currently the leader of the Environmental Project Office (ENPO) for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) overseeing EM&A programs for this mega-scale infrastructure project, which run across key habitats of the highly endangered Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin. His other major projects include project managing the EM&A program for the world’s largest-scale submarine contaminated mud pits at East of Sha Chau (ESC CMP), involving comprehensive water and sediment quality, fisheries, ecotoxicology and biota contamination, as well as human and dolphin risk assessment
