Biography
Prof King L. CHOW is a Professor of Life Science and Biomedical Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He has served as Associate Dean of Students, Academic Director of the Common Core Program, Directors of the Molecular Biomedical Sciences Program and Bioengineering Program. He currently holds the position as the Director of Interdisciplinary Programs Office overseeing different interdisciplinary research and undergraduate programs. His own research focuses on molecular genetics, neural development, synthetic and evolutionary biology. He actively engages in various teaching development programs, spearheads liberal arts education and interdisciplinary education at HKUST.
Research Interest
He has taught subjects of his own expertise areas, as well as subjects at the junctures between science, engineering, social science and humanity. He delivers classes in traditional lectures, group work, exploratory-project-based courses, MOOC and extensive flipped classes at undergraduate and graduate level, earning him the School of Science Teaching Award, the Michael G. Gale Medal of distinguished teaching at HKUST.
