Biography
Sergio Marchionne was appointed to the SGS board in 2001 and has been Chairman since 2006. Sergio Marchionne holds a BA in Philosophy from the University of Toronto, and an LLB degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, Toronto. He also has an MBA and B.Com from the University of Windsor, in Canada. A barrister, solicitor and chartered accountant, Mr. Marchionne began his career in Canada in 1983. In 2004, he became CEO of Fiat S.p.A., headquartered in Turin. In addition, in June 2009, he was appointed CEO of Chrysler Group LLC and, in September 2011, also assumed the role of Chairman. In October 2014, he became Chairman of Ferrari S.p.A. and CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. (FCA), the company resulting from the merger of Fiat S.p.A. and Chrysler Group LLC. He served as Chairman of CNH Global N.V. from 2006 and Fiat Industrial S.p.A. from 2011, becoming Chairman of CNH Industrial N.V., the company resulting from the merger of CNH Global N.V. and Fiat Industrial S.p.A. in 2013.
