Biography
Professor Yang obtained his Bachelor degree in Preventive Medicine and Master Degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Peking University and PhD in Public Health from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has been appointed as Research Assistant Professor at the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care since April 2016. Professor Yang is specialized in methods of epidemiology, including clinical epidemiology and systematic review and meta-analysis. His major research interests include evidence-based medicine, over-diagnosis and over-treatment of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases and cancer, and predictive and prognostic factors in cancer. He has authored more than 50 publications, 24 of which appear in journals with IF>5. Since 2013, Professor Yang has been a Young Fellow of the Evidence-Based Medicine Committee of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, which is the most prestigious organization of evidence-based medicine in China. Professor Yang also serves as a peer reviewer for a number of international journals, such as Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, Oncotarget, Scientific Reports, Atmospheric Environment and PLoS One.
