Biography
Professor Yang obtained her PhD degree in the field of cardiovascular research, particularly endothelium research in 2003 in the Chinese University of Hong Kong. After graduation, she went to Oregon Health and Science University, Portland, Oregon, U.S.A. for postdoctoral training as a recipient of American Heart Association postdoctoral fellowship. Her post-doc research focused on vascular biology and correlation between cardiovascular diseases and prenatal ischemia and she was awarded Perinatal Research Society NATUS-sponsored International Young Investigator Award. She then returned to CUHK, taking up a position of Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery. In the year 2011, she was appointed as Assistant Professor and joined the Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine and Therapeutics. So far, Prof. Yang has published 67 peer-reviewed papers and 3 book chapters.
