Dr. Ronald CW Ma is affiliated to Medicine & Therapeutics, CUHK . Dr. Ronald CW Ma is currently providing services as Professor. Dr. Ronald CW Ma research interests include Epidemiology and genetics of diabetes and diabetic complications, gestational diabetes and developmental origins of adult diseases, polycystic ovary syndrome.His laboratory has utilized several large cohorts, including the Hong Kong Diabetes Registry, the Hong Kong Diabetes Family Study, and several mother-offspring cohorts to identify genetic and other novel biomarkers associated with type 2 diabetes and its complications. Current ongoing projects include a large-scale multi-disciplinary effort to identify genetic and epigenetic markers that can predict the development of diabetic complications, functional characterization of novel type 2 diabetes genes, and long-term effects of gestational diabetes.
