Biography

Dr. Feng is currently an Associate Professor, Assistant Director education in School of Chinese Medicine, the University of Hong Kong. Being an expert in the study of Chinese Materia Medica, Pharmacology and Toxicology of Chinese medicine. Dr. Fengs research interest is concentrate on clinical trail and experimental study for cancer, hepatic diseases, and renal diseases by using recently developed techniques in Pharmacology, molecular biology and immunology. He has published over 50 papers and books in these areas. Dr. Feng awarded Bachelor degree in Chinese Medicine from China. He warded his PhD degree from Hokkaido University School of Medicine in Japan. He finished postdoctoral research in Molecular Medicine, Hokkaido University in 1999.

Research Interest

Being an expert in the study of Chinese materia medica, pharmacology of Chinese medicine and Toxicology of Chinese medicine, Dr. Feng has engaged in treatment of autoimmune diseases, tumor, chronic liver and chronic kidney diseases by the methodology of integrating western medicine with Chinese traditional medicine as well as research in the formulation of TCM and effective components by using methods of pharmacology, immunology and molecular biology in recent years. In the past years, Dr. Feng got various scholarships and research funds from Chinese Government, Japanese Government, Sumitomo social welfare consortium, FUJISAWA Pharmaceutical Limited Incorporation and TSUMURA KAMPO Pharmaceutical Limited Incorporation etc. Recently, his research was supported by grants from the research council of the University of Hong Kong Project Codes 10208005, The Research Grant Committee RGC of Hong Kong SAR of China  Project Code: 764708M, Hong Kong Government-Matching Grant Scheme 4th Phase, Project Code: 20740314, Pong Ding Yueng Endowment Fund for Education & Research in Chinese Western Medicine Project Code: 20005274 and Hong Kong Hospital Authority’s funding for Chinese Medicine etc. His major research areas and research topics are Standardization and quality control of Chinese Medicines, Pharmacological screening and safety evaluation of Chinese Medicines; and Pharmacological action and its mechanism of Chinese Medicines. From the perspectives of traditional Chinese medicine and biomedicine as well as science, the research will concentrate on clinical trail and experimental study for hard to cure diseases, such as cancer, hepatic diseases, and renal diseases by using recently developed techniques in molecular biology and immunology.
